Alzheimer’s Tea Day 2021
On Thursday 6th May 2021, Irish HomeCare’s team of carers and office staff engaged in the national ‘Tea Day’ event in aid of Alzheimers/Dementia as organised by The Alzheimer Society of Ireland. Virtual tea chats of up to 5 people took place throughout the day. The tea groups of five were randomly selected allowing nationwide staff to meet from different areas. This was the opportune time for staff to catch up and chat over a cup of tea.
It was great to see many familiar faces and the engagement was particularly enjoyable for those working from home for some time now. This event gave the staff the opportunity to catch up and chat and for some this was particularly meaningful as it meant seeing familiar faces again for those working from home. It also allowed team leaders to meet virtually with carers. We had our fill of tea and biscuits throughout the day!
In total, €1880.80 was raised on the day and such donations will go towards the support and aid to the 64,000 cases of Alzheimer’s/Dementia in Ireland. Irish HomeCare were delighted to be supporting this worthy cause. The Alzheimer Society of Ireland have reached out to express their sincere gratitude to the company for our kind involvement and donations.
