Irish HomeCare is proud to promote care work as a worthwhile professional career pathway offering many opportunities. We recognise how important training is and for this reason we set up our own Training Institute in early 2008. We have since gone on and become a registered QQI/Fetac Training Center and a City & Guilds Training Centre for Social Care.
Our sister company Irish Healthcare Training Institute provides carers from all backgrounds with a menu of health-related courses from individual modules i.e. Basic First Aid right through to FETAC Level 5 full award in Healthcare.
Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI)
QQI offers Major awards and Minor awards. QQI Major Awards are made up of a number of specified (8 or more) Minor awards commonly known as modules or component certificates. Each module can be taken separately or as part of an overall programme incorporating all the required modules for a Major award. Learners receive a Component Certificate for each module they successfully complete. When a Learner has successfully completed the required Component Certificates for a Major award they automatically become eligible for the overall Certificate.
City & Guilds
City & Guilds is committed to developing the skills of people and organisations to secure their personal and economic growth and prosperity. They have a long history in Ireland, having the first formal arrangement in 1901 with the then Department of Agriculture & Technical Instruction.
All training services are delivered via our sister company Irish Healthcare Training Institute.
